Which Colours Look Best on a Grey?

If you own a beautiful "white" grey horse, congratulations! You've won the horse colour lottery, your horse will probably look amazing in any colour you choose to ride in! Dappled greys who haven't finished greying out yet might be a tiny bit more limited in colours that suit, but they're still a nice neutral colour and will most likely suit everything.

The horse who features in many of these photos is my friend's welsh x arab Delphi, and her owner dresses her in every colour except yellow. She says it makes her look like a fried egg. I disagree and think Delphi would look great in yellow, but if you're trying to narrow down your colour selection, maybe avoid colours that make your horse look like a tasty breakfast food? I personally like a bit of contrast so I like to put white-greys in bright vibrant colours, or darker shades, and dark dappled greys in brights and lights/pastels. But I have some examples of white-greys in pastels on this page and I still think they look stunning.

There are many other colours that suit them though, and if a colour isn't pictured here it is not because it will look bad, its only because I haven't photographed it yet!

At the end of the day you need to choose a colour that you like, not necessarily what everyone else likes. Hopefully this post will help you with your decision.
